ILLUSTRATED HAIKU 2020/21
Reflecting on our changing world, i started to write Haiku, observing small details in our garden and on country walks that gave me much pleasure, These small pleasure have given balance to the more difficult emotions I experienced being distanced from friends and family, which also feature in my haiku.
The artworks have been created using various textile techniques including painting on silk, appliqué, embroidery on net, embroidered photomontag and digital images. The Nasturtium artwork was created using a Japanese method of creating cloth, Momigami ((kneaded paper) which I thought appropriate, also using appliquéd silk, net and embroidery.
